How it works

Here is an overview of how it works:

1. Selection and Ordering:

Selecting Your Wine:

No idea where to begin or not a ‘guru’ when it comes to wine!? Set your fears aside and allow us to do all the hard work for you! Start with one of our ‘ready-to-go’ hand picked boxes that will be sure to please, whether you prefer red, white, rose or a variety of flavours, there is a box just for you and your palette. 

Otherwise start by choosing how many bottles your heart desires (ie. 3, 6 or 12) and how much you wish to spend. After you have chosen your preferred wine, head to the checkout. When you subscribe to a monthly subscription model you receive a DISCOUNT as well as FREE SHIPPING (see ‘subscription’ for detailed description and pricing). 

Alternatively, you may choose to purchase your wine today in either a beautiful gift box (3 bottles) or beautifully designed tasting boxes (6 or 12 bottles). Mix and match wines however you please. Alternatively, choose a 'Ready to go Box' and receive a 10% DISCOUNT. 

We have a three (3) tiered price structure (Silver $, Gold $$ and Platinum $$$). So whatever your budget we have wines to suit.

Placing the Order: 

We use the Shopify payments portal and Pay Pal for all orders and also accept Visa, Mastercard and Amex*.

After adding your desired wines to cart, provide shipping and payment information, which confirms your order.

*At this time we are not accepting cryptocurrency payments.

2. Payment and Verification:

Verification: As per the liquor legislation requirements age we will be checking ID upon entry to our website and prior to checkout.

3. Packaging:

Once the order has been placed, the selected bottles of wine are quickly retrieved from our facility. Your wine is then carefully and securely packaged for shipping; placing it in a secure beautiful gift style box or a beautifully designed tasting box with protective packaging materials. 

4. Shipping and Delivery:

We will be using either Australia Post, Courier Please or Star Track Express depending on availability. After checkout, you will receive a tracking number, to monitor your box during transit. We dispatch new customer orders no later than by the following business day. This is our guarantee.

5. Delivery to Customer:

When your wine arrives, an adult (over 18) must be present to receive the delivery. If not, the wine will be taken back to the post office for collection at a later date/time.  

6. Enjoying the Wine:

Once our beautiful wine is safely received, enjoy at your leisure!

We offer standard FREE SHIPPING to all our customers. Please refer to our Shipping Information page for more details.

We dispatch new customer orders no later than by the following business day. This is our guarantee. But from there it’s, unfortunately, a little out of our control. Lead times will vary depending on the courier company and your location.

How can I track my order?

Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information. You can use this information to track the status and location of your wine box.

Standard shipping typically takes [2-5] days. Please note that these are estimates, and actual delivery times may vary.

East Coast deliveries (e.g. Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane etc): Expect 2-3 business days for your box to arrive.

West Coast deliveries (e.g. Perth): Expect 5-7 business days for your box to arrive. 

In-between Coasts deliveries (e.g. Adelaide & Alice Springs): Expect between 2-5 business days for your box to arrive.

Rural deliveries (e.g. Port Hedland, Tasmania): Can sometimes take a little longer, but you knew that already because it’s annoyed you before. 

We’re so sorry about that! 

These are all average courier times, but please allow for some delay due to the recent surge in online deliveries.

All deliveries are from Monday-Friday during standard business hours. While we do operate on weekends and public holidays, packages will not be shipped until following business day*

Can I change my shipping address after placing the order?

We process orders quickly to ensure timely delivery. Contact our customer support team as soon as possible by phone, and we will do our best to assist you OR just log in to your account, head to your Settings, and click on Shipping. From there you can click on Update Shipping Address to tell us where we can send your next box of beautiful wine.

Do you ship internationally?

No not at this stage, however this is something that we will be perusing in the future!

What happens if I’m not home during the delivery?

Our carriers typically require an adults signature for the delivery of alcoholic beverages. If you’re not home to receive your package, the courier will leave a notice with instructions on how to reschedule delivery or pick up your order.

Please ensure a person over the age of 18 is home to accept delivery of the wine. If for whatever reason nobody is home to accept your delivery, depending on your delivery instructions, the courier will leave a calling card in your mailbox wit instructions of where to collect it from (e.g. your local post office) or will leave the wine in a safe place as agreed, accepted and/or directed by you at the checkout. By consenting to have your wine left at your premises if no one is home you accept all responsibilities for any loss incurred (e.g. theft).

What should I do if my order arrives damaged?

If in the unlikely event that your wine box arrives damaged we will arrange for a replacement or refund. We apologize for any inconvenience. 

Contact our customer support team immediately, Please provide photos of the damaged items for our records.

Can I return a bottle if I don’t like it?

Due to the nature of our products, we generally do not accept returns for change of mind. However, if you receive a damaged or defective item, please contact our customer support team, and we will assist you in resolving the issue.

Are there any shipping restrictions?

Yes, there are certain restrictions on shipping alcoholic beverages. Please refer to our Shipping Information page for details on restricted locations and compliance with local Laws.

Do you offer same-day delivery?

Same-day delivery is available in select local areas (Largely Melbourne Metropolitan). Check our Delivery Options during checkout for availability and details.

Can I collect my order from your warehouse?

Unfortunately at this time, you can't do this. We have to obey our warehouse safety standards and liquor license rules, which don't allow it. We do however offer FREE SHIPPING to all customers…so sit back relax and wait for your order to arrive.

Returns & Exchanges

We don’t accept bottles for change of mind except when buying as a gift for someone else. All bottles must be returned in an unopened condition. 

Returns will be processed as a new gift order or gift card (credit) for your loved one to make their own choices.

In the unlikely event that you find a broken bottle in your wine box, please send us photos to sales@guiltfreewine.com and give us a call asap. We promise to send out a replacement bottle.

Not happy for some reason? We appreciate your feedback and can be contacted on sales@guiltfreewine.com or give us a call. We promise to replace any wine with that of a similar value*

*replacements made when wine is not of acceptable saleable condition eg. passed the use-by date, smells funky, weird sediment or anything else that indicates a bad bottle. We do not refund for tastes however we take all complaints seriously.

Storage

The storage of your biodynamic, organic and preservative free wine is critical so that you can enjoy your wine for as long as possible.

In general, Biodynamic and Organic wines can be cellared for approximately 5 to 10 years, however preservative free wines should ideally be stored no more than 3 years and where possible, enjoyed within the first year after purchase to truly enjoy the wine as nature intended. This is because the wine can oxidize over time and the level of tannins can also increase, which leads to an overpowering, acidic taste.

In addition to enjoying your preservative free wine within a year, It is also strongly recommended to drink your opened bottles within 1-3 days. As after this time the oxidation will overpower the taste and quality. Using a wine stopper, vacuum or similar preservation system is highly recommended and this can make your preservative free wine drinkable for as much as 5-7days. 

All our other wines that are low preservative can be enjoyed opened for around 3-5 days. Using a wine stopper, vacuum or similar preservation system is highly recommended as this will enjoy your wine stays fresher for longer. 

We also recommend to use an aerator when pouring your wine for a well-rounded experience. These nifty little gadgets make it even easier to enjoy a perfect glass of wine without the need to decant. They help improve wine's taste and aroma by increasing its exposure to oxygen. Aeration also helps to soften those harsh tannins, opening up the wine's full flavour.

Wines should always be stored in a cool, dry place away from large fluctuations in temperature or humidity. This means wines should not be stored in the kitchen, and preferably stored in a cellar or cupboard away from light and heat between 15-20 degrees celsius.
